Throughout her prolific writing career Denise Dumars has written and published
poetry, short stories, articles, and reviews in journals such as
Terra
Incognita, Cinefantastique, and
Talebones. She is a columnist
for
Star*Line, the journal of the
Science
Fiction Poetry Association, and a peer reviewer for
Coreopsis:
A Journal of Myth and Theater. She has also published two collections
of short stories; two non-fiction books, including
The Dark Archetype (with
Lori Nyx), and numerous chapbooks of poetry, the most recent of which is
Letting
in the Dark (Yellow Bat Press). Denise teaches a variety of English
courses in Southern California colleges.

Day of the Dead, decorate the Ofrenda altar, share favorite foods of
our departed loved ones, write a love letter to the dead, honor our ancestors,
divine our futures and have a festive good time! A special Croning ceremony
for PUC and Iseum of Isis Paedusis member Penny Trunnell.
Come dressed in your dark finery, calavera makeup or favorite costume.
Bring a photo(s) in a stand up frame or mementos of your dearly departed,
seasonal flowers, foliage or decorations and a favorite food or drink
of your departed or ancestors to share and offer during the ritual. The
plate will be passed, but no one turned away for lack of funds.
